Award season was coming and Amazon needed Maisel to be the talk of LA. So we turned LA into 1959.

More than 25 businesses across the city offered retro pricing — gas, food, drinks, haircuts, all at 1950s rates. People lined up around the block for thirty-cent gas. The whole city was living inside the show for a day.

Hard to miss a 20-foot pink plunger. That was the point.

Susie’s plunger Pamela became a fan obsession in Season 2. So we made 20-foot pink plungers and dropped them all over LA. Wild postings led fans on a scavenger hunt across the city to find them.
